Welcome To howtohaunt.com
This site is all about extreme Halloween decorating and
is dedicated to helping you haunt any area you'd like. This
website is not
a how-to
for
ghosts
looking
to frighten
the living out of their humble abodes, but rather to help those
of you who are interested in "spooking up" an area
for a certain amount of time. Be it for a costume party,
a midnight
madness horror film showing, or even your own home for the
Halloween season, this site will be here to guide you through
planning,
construction, creating storylines, and whatever else your ghoulish
little mind can dream up.
Whether you call it haunting or extreme
Halloween decorating, it is a hobby that can be done by
anyone with time, money, and/or motivation. If you are wondering
why
someone
might choose
such
an interesting hobby, you can read the story of my personal
descent into madness here.
Haunting isn't easy. It can be a lot of work and
may take a serious time commitment as well. But, when you see
the look on the trick-or-treater's faces on Halloween night,
it makes it all worthwhile.
Please keep in mind that a lot of the props, decorations, and
electrical circuits on these pages were not designed by me.
I am not an engineer. Some of these projects have the potential
to cause great physical harm. I can not be held responsible
for any death, dismemberment, bodily injury, or the making of
your haunt a bit too realistic by adding a restless spirit,
namely yours, to the area. I will try to outline safety precautions
to follow and protective gear to wear but please try to use
some common sense.
Also, as I have previously stated, a number of these props
and their construction methods were not devised by me. With
this in mind, I will attempt to give credit to the original
designers and include links to their site to allow you to
see
what the original vision was.
Above all, this site is about having some fun. So, get the
kids together and try a project or two. Try to enjoy yourself,
it's supposed to be a hobby. If it feels too much like work,
you're trying too hard.
This site is a little graphic intensive due to the nature
of the content. My apologies in advance to those of you without
broadband access.
